From restored hardwood floors to exposed wood beam supports, painted brick and new double sheetrock divider walls, each Loft will be like a new house, (new electrical, plumbing, and heating systems, etc) but with the charm of large windows and restored wood found only in historic buildings.

Owner occupants should qualify for a tax credit on eligible renovation cost of 40%  under the Historic Mill Tax Credit law from the State of North Carolina. Investors will also receive the 40% Historic Mill credit and an additional 20% federal tax credit. The Home Ownership Program provides funds to homebuyers purchasing a home in a defined area of downtown which includes Borden Lofts. The loan is forgiven after five years of residency in the home purchased.
